Ryan McIvor
- BS Exercise Science (Colorado Mesa Univ.)
- Certified Personal Trainer
- Strength & Active Aging
- Pre/Post Surgery & Joint Replacement Support
- Strength & Conditioning Coach
- CPR & AED Certified
I opened Upward Fitness Studio with one mission in mind: to create a welcoming, supportive environment where people can improve their health and fitness no matter their starting point. My own journey began after struggling with unhealthy habits and weight challenges, and finding fitness changed the direction of my life. What started as a personal transformation quickly became a passion for helping others experience the same confidence, strength, and freedom that come from feeling better.
For more than a decade, I’ve been helping adults build strength, move better, and stay active for the moments that matter most. I specialize in working with adults 40 and older who want to maintain an active lifestyle, enjoy retirement, keep up with their kids and grandkids, and continue doing the activities they love for years to come.
I also work closely with individuals preparing for surgery, recovering from procedures, or navigating life after joint replacements, helping them safely rebuild strength, confidence, and function through personalized exercise programs. Whether your goal is reducing pain, improving mobility, getting stronger, returning to golf, hiking, travel, or simply feeling like yourself again, I believe fitness should meet you where you are.
My approach is simple: build strength for real life, make fitness approachable, and create a plan that helps you feel confident, capable, and healthy for the long run.

- BS Health and Exercise Science (Colorado State Univ.)
- Certified Personal Trainer
- Clinical Exercise Physiologist
- Evidence-Based Fitness & Sustainable Health Coaching
- CPR/AED/First Aid Certified
My journey into fitness began from a deeply personal place. Growing up, I wasn’t the athletic kid—I remember struggling to run a mile and feeling unsure where I fit in when it came to health and exercise. As a teenager navigating challenges with my relationship to food, and later as a young adult learning fitness through trial and error, I often wished I had someone knowledgeable and supportive to guide me.
That experience is what fuels my passion today: becoming the mentor and coach I wish I had when I started.
With advanced education in exercise physiology and certification as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, I specialize in helping clients improve their health through strategies grounded in science and evidence-based practice. My approach focuses on creating sustainable habits, building confidence, and helping clients understand how to exercise in a way that supports their body, goals, and long-term well-being.
Whether you’re just getting started, rebuilding confidence in the gym, improving your overall health, or looking for guidance rooted in research—not trends—I’m here to help make fitness feel approachable, effective, and enjoyable.
Fitness doesn’t have to be overwhelming or complicated. Together, we’ll build a plan that fits your life and helps you feel stronger, healthier, and more confident for the long run.

Keagon Pitton
BS Sports & Exercise Science (Univ. of Northern Colorado)
Certified Personal Trainer
Strength & Conditioning Coach
Corrective Exercise Specialist
CPR/AED/First Aid Certified
As a former college athlete, I understand the discipline, consistency, and hard work it takes to improve performance both in sports and in everyday fitness. Growing up, I know how valuable it would have been to have someone in my corner who could push me to improve while also providing support, guidance, and confidence along the way. That experience is what drives my passion for coaching today.
I specialize in strength and conditioning for middle school and high school athletes, helping young athletes build strength, improve speed and power, increase confidence, and develop the habits needed to succeed both in sports and beyond. My goal is to create a positive, motivating environment where athletes can learn proper movement, reduce injury risk, and unlock their full athletic potential.
At the same time, I’m passionate about helping adults improve their overall health, strength, and fitness. Whether your goal is athletic performance, building confidence in the gym, or simply living a healthier lifestyle, I believe fitness should be individualized and sustainable.
No matter your age, experience level, or starting point, I’m committed to helping you grow stronger, move better, and become the best version of yourself through a program designed specifically for you.

Kayla VanBuskirk
Certified Personal Trainer
Adaptive & Inclusive Trainer
CPR/AED/First Aid Certified
With a strong foundation in martial arts, strength training, and functional fitness, I’m passionate about helping people build confidence, improve their health, and achieve goals they may have once thought were out of reach. My own fitness journey began as a skinny kid learning how to gain strength and confidence, giving me a firsthand understanding of how intimidating starting can feel and how powerful progress becomes.
Over the years, I’ve combined hands-on fitness experience with a broader understanding of health and wellness. My work as an EMT deepened my knowledge of the human body, injury prevention, emergency care, and the importance of proactive health. That experience reinforced a simple truth: taking care of your body isn’t just about performance it’s about improving quality of life.
As an Adaptive & Inclusive Trainer, I’m especially passionate about working with adaptive athletes and disabled veterans, helping create training environments that are supportive, empowering, and tailored to each individual’s unique needs and goals. Fitness should be accessible to everyone, and I believe strength training can be life-changing whether the goal is improved mobility, greater independence, athletic performance, or simply feeling stronger in everyday life.
Whether you’re building strength, improving functional movement, returning to fitness, or looking for a coach who will meet you where you are, I’m committed to helping you move forward with confidence.
